“Bridge in Literature, History and Cinematography“

We have the great pleasure and honor to invite you to participate in the International Scientific Conference organized by the Department of Literature, the Department of Oriental Studies and the Department of History of the Andrić Institute in Višegrad (Republika Srpska) entitled:

Bridge in Literature, History and Cinematography

(October 28-30, 2016)

Proposed sub-topics include:

  1. The motif of the bridge in literature
  2. The motif of the bridge in cinematography
  3. The Mehmed Pasha Sokolović bridge in historical context
  4. Bridge: cultural implications (ermeation, reception, connections, influences)
  5. Bridge: didactic functions
  6. Bridge: linguistic applications and conversions
  7. Bridge(s) in a metaphorical-symbolic meaning within/between:

7.1.  History and literature

7.2.  History and film

7.3.  Literature and film

Papers can be submitted in Serbian, English, Spanish  and Catalan language; the length of oral presentations should not exceed 15 minutes. Please send your topic proposal along with an abstract (up to 200 words), key words (up to 5) and a short biography (up to 250 words) not later than June 20, 2016 to the email address of Dragana Bedov, the Secretary of the Scientific Conference: dbedov@yahoo.com.

The applicants will be notified of the reception of their applications via email. Upon considering abstracts, Scientific Committee will electronically notify the applicants of the acceptance of their topic proposals by July 15, 2016. The proceedings with all the papers presented at the conference will be published in the spring of 2017.
