The International Scientific Committee of the Department of History of the Andrić Institute to mark the 100th anniversary since the beginning of the World War I, on a two-day meeting, in Andićgrad, defined the themes and content of the following issues of “Historical Notebooks”, which will be published monthly. The Committee also made a decision about founding The International Scientific Journal of History. The basic theme of the second meeting was detailed elaboration of program for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the World war I.
According to the statement from the Department of History of the Andrić Institute in Andrićgrad, besides planned scientific, artistic and documentary content, the program would provide a rich publishing activity.
At the beginning of the meeting of the Committee, the members paid their respect to recently deceased Miroslav Jovanović who was the director of the Department of History of the Andrić Institute and a member of the Committee.
The meeting, lead by the Chairman of the Committee and the Director of the Andrić Institute, Emir Kusturica, was attended by committee members: Oleg Ajrapetov, Svetozar Rajak, Miroslav Perišić, Pero Simić and Ivan Obradović.
The International Scientific Committee was established on December 1st, last year, when program for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the World War I was defined.
The basic approach to the celebration of this important anniversary would be aimed at the comprehensive understanding of the causes of the First World War, its course and the consequences.
