In the Gallery of the Andrić Institute “Petar Lubarda”, on Thursday, January 18, starting at 4 p.m., during the 11th International Film Festival Kustendorf, will be opened a retrospective exhibition of Petar Lubarda 1907-1974-2017.
After a guest appearance at the Petrović Palace in the Contemporary Art Center of Montenegro in Podgorica (August 3 – September 2) and presentation in the Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection in Novi Sad (September 7 – November 5), then in the Heritage House from Belgrade (November 9, 2017 – January 6, 2018), the exhibition will be shown to the audience in Andrićgrad.
An exhibition in honor of Petar Lubarda, one of the most prominent artists of Serbian but also and world art of the past century, will be organized on the occasion of marking 110 years since his birth.
The setting of the exhibition includes Lubarda’s works from the period between the two world wars, as well as from the war and post-war period, representing a retrospective selection of a total of 26 art exhibits, which will round out the picture of the Lubarda’s creativity. The original works are accompanied by rich archival materials, printed panels with reproductions of photographs, letters, contemporary publications in the press and a richly illustrated catalog, which will graphically present Lubarda’s life and art biography in the context of contemporary cultural trends in the national and world frames.
The exhibition of Petar Lubarda 1907-1974-2017 is a joint project of the Memorial Collection of Pavle Beljanski and the Heritage House from Belgrade. The memorial collection of Pavle Beljanski in Novi Sad keeps the Lubarda’s that were created before the Second World War, and the Heritage House takes care of Lubarda’s works from the post-war period.
