In the period from October 15th to 17th, the International Conference ”Dream About the City” was organized by the Andrić Institute. This was the second in a series of annual conferences that will deal with this topic.

Head of the Department of Literature of the Andrić Institute, prof. Dr. Aleksandra Vraneš, stated that in the papers of renowned professors and researchers was developing cultural memory, Serbian, Slovenian, Russian, Azerbaijani, Iranian, Turkish, Hungarian, Spanish, Japanese, American …, oral and written literature.

“The city as a historical entity, a sociological construct, a literary experience, an aesthetic category, a moral stage, a carrier of linguistic and cultural forms, a link between the past and the present. The city as a harmony created by the human hand, as a ‘cosmogonic act by itself’ “, said prof. Vraneš and added that they were extremely interesting and for further thoughts, the stimulating presentations ranged from mythic applications to concrete, tragic and comic, city experiences, from subculture analysis of the city and subcultures in the city to re-examining gender roles.
